This Rental Agreement is between Stack & Settle and the customer named in the reservation. By checking the agreement box and paying the security deposit, the customer accepts these terms for that reservation.
1. Reservation and availability
A submitted request is not final until the refundable security deposit is paid and Stack & Settle confirms availability by email. Requested dates, rush service, and delivery outside the included service area are subject to availability.
2. Rental packages and rental period
Rental packages include the selected number of reusable totes with matching lids and one rolling tote dolly. Rental periods are seven or fourteen calendar days, beginning on the scheduled delivery or customer-pickup date and ending on the confirmed return date.
3. Charges and invoice payment
- Security deposit: The refundable security deposit is charged when the reservation is submitted. It is not part of the taxable rental or service charge and is returned after an on-time return and inspection, less any authorized deductions.
- Remaining balance: Stripe will email an itemized invoice approximately 20 minutes after the security deposit is paid. The invoice includes the rental price, applicable taxes, the 5% reservation and processing fee on rental and service charges, and approved service charges, less applicable customer-pickup or customer-drop-off savings. The customer may pay through Stripe's secure invoice page at any time before the deadline.
- Payment deadline: For a standard booking, the invoice must be paid by 5:00 PM Central on the calendar day before scheduled delivery or customer pickup. A reservation accepted after that time is a short-notice booking and is subject to the deadline shown on its invoice. In every case, payment must clear before service begins.
- Rush service: A $35 rush fee applies only when Stack & Settle approves delivery within 72 hours. It is included with the remaining balance and is not charged with the deposit.
- Delivery service: Delivery and pickup are included in Spring Hill, Thompson's Station, Columbia, Franklin, and Cool Springs. One $50 round-trip service fee applies to approved addresses outside those communities but within 20 driving miles of Stack & Settle's Spring Hill base. Addresses beyond that limit require customer pickup unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- No automatic balance draft: Stack & Settle will not automatically draft the customer's card for the remaining balance. Stripe may separately offer to remember payment information for faster checkout, but that optional choice does not change the reservation or the invoice deadline.
- Nonpayment: Totes will not be delivered or released unless the invoice is paid in full. If the invoice remains unpaid at the applicable deadline, Stack & Settle may cancel the reservation and the security deposit will be forfeited.
4. Cancellation and rescheduling
A cancellation made at least seven calendar days before scheduled service is eligible for a refund of the security deposit. A cancellation made less than seven calendar days before service, including cancellation caused by nonpayment at the invoice deadline, forfeits the security deposit. A customer may request a new available date instead, but rescheduling is not guaranteed and may change rush or service fees.
5. Delivery, customer pickup, and access
The customer must provide complete, accurate service information and safe, reasonable access at the agreed time. The customer is responsible for confirming that the delivery, pickup, or return location permits the activity. Failed service caused by an unsafe location, inaccessible property, incorrect address, or unavailable customer may require rescheduling and an additional service charge.
6. Care and permitted use
Each tote has a maximum load of 150 pounds. Totes, lids, and equipment may not be overloaded, altered, used as steps or furniture, or used for hazardous, illegal, corrosive, flammable, wet, pest-infested, or unsanitary materials. The customer is responsible for proper packing, lifting, transport, storage, and weather protection while the equipment is in the customer's possession.
7. Return deadline and late charges
All totes, lids, and rented equipment must be returned or made available for pickup by the confirmed return date. Approved late returns are charged at $1 per tote, per calendar day. Unapproved late returns may also affect future reservations and may result in additional recovery costs when permitted by law.
8. Inspection, damage, missing items, and deposit
The customer is responsible for the equipment from receipt until Stack & Settle accepts its return. A missing, destroyed, or unusable tote or lid is charged at $20 per matched tote-and-lid set. Stack & Settle may deduct valid late charges, extraordinary cleaning costs, damage, missing-item charges, or other amounts authorized by this agreement from the security deposit. The customer remains responsible for valid charges exceeding the deposit. Any remaining refundable deposit will be returned after inspection; the customer's bank may take additional time to post the refund.
9. Responsibility for personal property
Stack & Settle is not responsible for loss of or damage to the customer's belongings caused by improper packing, overloading, prohibited contents, misuse, or conditions outside Stack & Settle's reasonable control. Customers should use suitable padding and packing materials for fragile belongings.
10. Email communications
Reservation confirmations, Stripe invoices, payment reminders, and policy communications are sent to the email address provided during booking. The customer is responsible for providing an accurate address, monitoring that inbox, and adding hello@stackandsettletotes.com to approved contacts.
11. Governing terms
Tennessee law governs this agreement. If one provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. For an existing reservation, the agreement version accepted at checkout controls unless both parties agree to a change in writing.
